feedback on 3/17/09 class:

Comment: It is so good if we can, as educators, use some of the ideas we learn among the way in our daily life. My kids attend a privet school, and the school is having some difficulties. My son came to me and said: I wanted to go to the hearing so I can talk to people and tell them how important for us to keep our school running. I told my son about the “British save our school project”. My son was so happy of the idea. He is talking about doing something similar. I feel good to be able to implement the idea on a personal level. Thanks Dr. Vivian.

Connection: Doing the critical literacy trail about “The breadwinner” story with a group of girls was a great idea for me. I was able to use technology to communicate with the 5th member of the group since she doesn’t live in USA. I was able to get her feedback on the story as well as her drawing. I enjoyed working with the girls and I enjoyed the sense of responsibility and commitment they showed during the time we worked together.

Question:
How would we, teachers and educators, be able to create the right space for young girls to make them understand why girls their age in other places of the world are being treated differently not only from them but also from male figures living in the same societies?

  1. Wonderful Hana. I love hearing about young people standing up for their rights! I can't wait to hear more.
